The Challenge

After tackling the iOS and Android dating markets, it was only a matter of time before Tinder expanded its offer to include tvOS to give its users hours of fun right in the comfort of their living rooms. STRV’s unique expertise in this field made us the ideal development partner.

SWIFT 3, The New Romance

Just as tvOS offers a fresh new platform for creating unique user experiences, so does Swift 3. Tinder’s innovative approach made Apple’s newest language the ideal choice for leveraging tvOS features.

The app is fully controlled by Siri Remote instead of a standard touchscreen. We used Siri Remote’s touchpad and the tvOS focus engine to navigate the app and swipe cards. We also utilized motion sensors (accelerometer and gyroscope) for the rewind feature.
