We officially christened our new headquarters in Prague’s hip Karlin business district with a dazzling opening bash on May 13. Nearly 300 guests helped us toast the next phase of our exciting expansion process.

“We more than doubled our team in 2015 and quickly realized that our old offices in Slovansky dum were too small for the plans we have for STRV,” COO Lubo Smid told the guests, which included the Mayor of Prague Adriana Krnacova and several STRV clients who flew in from the US to attend the party.

“Our vision is big, and we need a big space in which to grow, which is why River Garden is so perfect for us,” Lubo added. “We would like to celebrate this new office. It will help us expand and reach our goals. We are actually the biggest tenant in this building, and what you have seen tonight is actually only about 40 percent of the space we are currently leasing.”

Our new digs stretch across three floors and include two terraces and an expansive multipurpose event space where we will host future developer meetups, hackathons and our popular Silicon Valley Insights series.

Designed by Prague architect Martin Stara, our space features several themed meeting rooms, bars and kitchens in addition to sleeping boxes, numerous swings and a birch tree forest (seriously). Of course, we brought along our Xbox and foosball tables and added a pool table to the seventh floor, where a crossfit gym is also in the works.

Oh, and the jacuzzi arrived last week, which joins the grill on the rooftop terrace. Sweet. Where do you want to hang out this summer?!

“This isn’t just an ordinary company,” Martin explained. “This is people living a dream together.”

The guest list for STRV’s exclusive office warming party included a who’s who of the local tech community as well as a few VIPs: STRV CEO David Semerad arrived a few days before from California. A couple of our clients were also on hand, including Brandon Asherian, whose STRV-developed fantasy sports app, START, is getting ready to launch. Andrew Mckee and Dalmar James from Rednote, an instant messaging music app that STRV is developing, also dropped by.

We gave guests tours of our space on the third and seventh floors and also prepared a VIP sneak peek of our (currently closed) sixth floor offices, where Pavel Tvaroh, owner of the legendary Bohemia Lounge, was mixing special cocktails using Bellini gummy bears, English breakfast tea and Venus flytrap plants.

This was the first of many parties and events we are planning to host in 2016, as we continue to grow our development offices in Prague and Brno with an average of 15 new hires per month.
